RDA Mission Statement
The mission of the Coatesville Redevelopment Authority is to facilitate commercial, industrial and residential redevelopment; promote economic development home ownership/rehabilitation and eradicate blight within the City of Coatesville per the mandates and authority of the PA Urban Redevelopment Law.
Background and Incorporation
The Coatesville Redevelopment Authority was created by the Coatesville City Council on September 27, 1999 and incorporated June 13, 2000. The RDA’s vision is to restore, rebuild, and revitalize the City of Coatesville. The RDA’s focus is to increase its role in Coatesville’s revitalization efforts by rejuvenating the City’s neighborhoods and improving its business districts.
Composition and Terms
The Coatesville Redevelopment Authority is constituted to consist of five (5) members appointed by the City Council of the City of Coatesville, a solicitor, and staff. The term of each of the members of the Authority shall be five (5) years or until his or her successor is appointed and qualified, except that the terms of the members first appointed pursuant to the Urban Redevelopment Law and this chapter shall be so fixed that no more than one (1) shall be re-appointed or replaced during any future calendar year.
