Coatesville Community Clean-Up Recap: Our 30 volunteers did it with style on 11/9 cleaning up Rt 82 and business 30/ Lincoln Highway. The 11/9 environmental impact for the litter clean up of Coatesville: 168 bags of litter, 5 TVS, 6 bikes, 1 baby stroller, 1 lawn mower, 8 tires, and over 300 political campaign and business yard signs. Shout out to:  Coatesville 2nd Century Alliance Shakira Davis for organizing our event and working closely with the Litter Lifters of West Vincent; Kelly McDowell, who runs a group called People Who Use Trash Cans, drove with her family from Lancaster county to volunteer for Round 2; Evan Bumbarger– solid volunteer- and Aidan Place- OJR High School student in an  International Baccalaureate program, who drove from West Vincent township to the Coatesville area to assist at this important clean up; Evan and Sharon who picked up all our piles of yard signs – Sharon will be taking 300 signs to Caln Township to participate in the Keep Chester County Beautiful campaign recycling event. Special thanks to; City of Coatesville Police Department and Lieutenant Ollis; ; PA State Police Trooper McKee, who not only provided safety support but drove our volunteers back to the Marriott; Coatesville City Hall for purchasing litter crew ahead signs and working with the officers who kindly set up the signs, and creating their own volunteer waiver;  Roberta Cosentino,  Asst City Manager and Vincent Miles, Govt and Public Affairs, for volunteering; Coatesville Area School District Megan Levan and her students; Coventry Environmental Inc. owner Steve Ohrwaschel who provided water and volunteered the entire day; Sharon Nash Yates, Supervisor for Valley Township for volunteering a 2nd time; Susan Springsteen, business owner of H2O Connected, for volunteering;  Wawa for providing hoagies and chips; Marriott in Coatesville; Animated Brewing; the Little Chef Kings TavernWhite Glove in ExtonAJ Blosenski/Waste Connections; Chophouse Grill of Exton; Wegmans; Turkey Hill;  Penndot for hauling away all of our piles. When our local government, residents, and businesses work together,  great things will happen.

The total # of bags and litter collected for Coatesville from 2 events:
Sept 21, World Clean Up Day, and Nov 9 is 427 bags, 34 Tires, 5 TV’s, 6 bikes, 1 lawn mower, 1 baby stroller, and over 300 yard signs!
