To comply with the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (PA UCC), any swimming pool in Coatesville that has a water depth of 24 inches or more requires a building permit. This requirement applies to both in-ground and above-ground pools. The governing regulation is found under 34 Pa. Code § 403.26, which mandates adherence to the “International Swimming Pool and Spa Code of 2018.” This code sets forth safety standards, including barrier requirements, to ensure the safe construction and use of swimming pools. Therefore, if you’re planning to install a pool with a depth of 24 inches or more, you must obtain the necessary building permit to comply with these standards.

For more details, you can refer to the Pennsylvania Code.
